The big, bad Leadville 100

I stole this photo of the Leadville 100 from Marty Caivano's blog, http://rubbersidedown.pmpblogs.com/. Whatevs. It's cool.

Everyone’s talking about it.

No, I’m not referring to the election. Or Levi Johnston running for mayor. I’m talking about the Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race this weekend.

(PS: 100 miles on an MTB? Field Notes sez: Pls pass the Vitamin I and a Java Porter, ktnxbai.)

Prediction: JHK (Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski) is going to dominate the field. And I’m not just saying that because he’s a Boulder local. Cycling News thinks he’s a contender, too. But it’s impossible to ignore other Colorado men, especially Dave Weins, who has won the race exactly a bazillion times. (Actually, six.)

If you want more Leadville plus more local, check out 303cycling’s special Leadville 100 section. If you would rather know more about the Java Porter, visit Mountain or Southern Sun.
