Ride the Divide

The cycling flick coming to the Boulder Theater on Saturday night, “Ride the Divide,” looks like it’ll be full of compelling stories of suffering and celebrating, perseverance and passion.

Don’t get me wrong — I love bike porn. But it’s nice to have stories in there, too. I think that’s why I’ve watched “Roam” like seven times (would’ve been more if I hadn’t loaned it to a friend who gave it to another friend who confessed he had it months after the fact…anyway).

I can’t imagine trying to ride a bike 2,700 miles along the Continental Divide. At the same time, as Jason Vogel of BMA told me, it still seems somehow more attainable, or relate-able, than flying off a 40 foot cliff (bike porn!). There’s something about it that makes you feel like you could do it, maybe, if you tried really, really hard.

Story here.
